FirstCom Music composer Daniel Heath and Lana Del Rey have collaborated again! This time on the cover of “Once Upon a Dream” for the film Maleficent. The song, which was released late last month, is a much darker version than the original classic from Sleeping Beauty – perfect for the upcoming dark, fantasy movie!
Heath and Del Rey are no strangers to working together. The two previously collaborated on The Great Gatsby soundtrack’s “Young and Beautiful,” as well as on many songs from Del Rey’s recent albums.
Their “Once Upon a Dream” cover will be featured in the movie end credits and can be heard in this Maleficent teaser trailer:
The highly anticipated movie is a re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty, told from the perspective of the villainous Maleficent. The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). Maleficent is set to release in theaters on May 30.
More of Heath’s work can be heard in the SEE Trailer Tracks album Cinematic Sci-Fi (SEE019):
