Congratulations to HBO’s The Normal Heart on its Emmy win for Outstanding Television Movie! The film, which features music from our Chronicles of Hip-Hop library, is the television adaptation of Larry Kramer’s Tony-winning play by the same name.

The Normal Heart depicts the rise of the HIV-AIDS crisis amongst New York City’s gay community in the 80s, from the point of view of writer/activist Ned Weeks (a character loosely based on Kramer). The Ryan Murphy-directed film features an all-star cast, which includes Mark Ruffalo (as Weeks), Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, Alfred Molina, Joe Mantello, and Julia Roberts.

At the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, The Normal Heart received a total of 16 nominations, and walked away with two: Outstanding Television Movie and Outstanding Makeup For A Miniseries Or A Movie (Non-Prosthetic) . Earlier this year, the film won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Movie and Matt Bomer took home Best Supporting Actor in a Movie/Miniseries for his role in the film. No question this film is a MUST SEE!

The Normal Heart includes our track titled Down To Rock Itfrom the album Hip Hop R’N’B Old Skool (COHH-3). For more from our Chronicles of Hip-Hop catalog, click here.
